(POTENTIALLY REMOTE) Our Client is seeking to place an Environmental Scientist II to join their Technical Team and support Environmental Projects for Federal Clients in Baton Rouge, LA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Work with Project Managers and Field Team Leaders to conduct fieldwork: soil/groundwater sample collection, drilling of soil borings, installation of monitoring wells at federal facilities.
• Document field activities (record, compile and complete field data via logbook and electronically).
• Conduct Phase I’s / II’s and document findings within reports.
• Support technical and pricing teams in proposal preparation.
• Develop and review project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare Planning Documents and Reports for environmental projects including Preliminary Assessments / Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations / Feasibility Studies, site investigations, site characterizations, and remediation projects.
• Research and analyze technical data and draft technical reports.
• Successfully complete all required safety training.
• Support equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• College or university degree of Bachelor of Science or equivalent or higher degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Environmental Scientist supporting environmental, natural resources, and remediation projects for federal clients.
• Possess 3+ years of experience with Federal Projects in Environmental Compliance, Environmental Remediation, and Natural Resources with proven ability to develop technical reports in accordance with Federal and State regulations and guidelines.
• National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience is desired.
• Knowledge of current regional and national initiatives relative to Environmental Compliance.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Air Act, National Historic Preservation Act, the Sikes Act, and similar laws).
• Experience with analyzing field data and making recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
• In-depth understanding of development of work plans and reports for environmental projects. • Must be able to balance multiple concurrent projects simultaneously.
• Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training/8-hour refresher; ability to pass HazMat physical.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Microsoft PC applications; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness/ability to travel.
